The beginning of Waverley’s 2015 season was marked by a reception on 21 May on the paddler at Pacific Quay to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her first passenger sailing in preservation.

On Thursday 21st May Iain Dewar handed over a £1 coin to Waverley Steam Navigation Company to finalise the sale of Balmoral.

The Society has been contacted by the operators of the Swedish Paddle Steamer Eric Nordevall II.

Delta Queen Update

The current edition of Paddle Wheels reported that the famous Delta Queen had been bought by new owners intent on returning her to service. Waverley departed Pacific Quay at 10am this morning with a good number on board, bursting with anticipation and eager to enjoy her first sailing of the 2014 season to Rothesay.

Earlier today the Institution of Mechanical Engineers presented Kingswear Castle with an Engineering Heritage Award as a mark of her unique place in British maritime history.

Balmoral Arrives at Sharpness

MV Balmoral departed Bristol early on Monday 12th May bound for dry dock at Sharpness. She is now in dry dock where a full inspection of her hull can be carried out. To help ensure that she sails again please donate online now.
