Waverley 1975 Documentary Film
The March meeting of the Scottish Branch took place on Friday 21st with a look back at 40 years of Waverley Steam Navigation Company (WSN). During the evening a packed room was given a flavour of what it was like to be a crew member on Waverley. The three presenters used a variety of methods including slides, PowerPoint presentations, pictures, music and video clips.
The following short film helps to illustrate the early preservation of Waverley as it was recorded and broadcast in 1975 as Waverley entered the start of her preservation career. The film highlights how the PSPS helped save the ship and the great effort made to ensure she sailed again after withdrawal by CalMac.
