Waverley Times now on Sale

Waverley Times, Waverley’s own newspaper, is now on sale at the Souvenir Shop to mark Waverley’s special season sailing in preservation.
Waverley Times was once produced annually from 1977 until 1998 with assistance from The Glasgow Herald and for most of that period Waverley supporter John Easton was editor. The paper was popular with Waverley’s passengers and would sell around 10,000 copies per season. The current edition is a special 40th Anniversary Commemorative Edition which contains numerous articles by PSPS members including one from Douglas McGowan telling his story of how he came to purchase Waverley back in 1974 – much to his total amazement. The paper was produced and funded by the PSPS Scottish Branch but all proceeds will go directly to Waverley to help keep the ship sailing.

The paper costs just £2 and contains many coloured photographs throughout as well as some from the PSPS collection. With articles on Waverley’s period in preservation, Kingswear Castle, Maid of the Loch and Balmoral this is one of the must have souvenirs produced to mark 40 years of Waverley sailing in preservation.
