A group from the Maritime Heritage Trust visited Kingswear Castle in the undercover shipyard at Dartmouth on Friday 12th April and were given a tour of the ship and the yard. Chairman of the Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle Trust, John Megoran, who is also a trustee of the Maritime Heritage Trust and one of the Council of Experts at National Historic Ships UK, said “My feeling is that at a time when the Maritime and Coastguard Agency is reviewing standards for older passenger vessels it is important to forge and enhance links with other organisations within the sector so that we can all work together to try to ensure that historic ships like KC and Waverley, as well as many others, can continue to sail on well into the future.”
