Waverley 1973 – Five Lochs Cruise – 29th September 1973
On Saturday 29th September 1973 the PSPS chartered Waverley for a “Five Lochs Cruise” taking in Loch Riddon, Loch Striven, Holy Loch, Loch Goil and Loch Long.
September 1973 also marked the end of Waverley’s service with Caledonian MacBrayne as she was permanently withdrawn from service later that month to face an uncertain future. Thought it wasn’t known at the time, Caledonian MacBrayne would shortly offer Waverley to the PSPS for less than the price of a “Five Lochs Cruise” ticket.
