Only three of Lake Geneva’s eight paddle steamers are scheduled to be in service at any one time this August (2026). See below for the daily routine:

Rhone is set to run the day trip from Geneva at 10.45 to Lausanne returning at 6.40pm after which is due to leave at 7.10pm for Yvoire returning to Geneva at 10.15pm. The centre piece of this route is the picturesque medieval town of Yvoire, on the south and French, shore of the lake. This can draw large crowds from Geneva, Nyon and Lausanne.

Savoie is set to make two circuits of the eastern lake leaving Lausanne at 11.20am and 3.05pm to St Gingolph returning along the Swiss shore via Montreux and Vevey; then to run the evening trip Wednesdays to Saturdays to Yvoire leaving Lausanne at 7pm due back 10.30pm.

Italie is set to leave Le Bouveret at 9.10am for Lausanne (10.45m) and then back to leave Vevey at 12 noon, 2pm and 4pm for three circuits of the eastern lake via St Gingolph before ending her day at Le Bouveret at 6.50pm.

Montreux is available in the Ouchy shipyard in reserve.

Vevey is set to replace Italie on Wednesday 12th August. Italie will then join Montreux in reserve at Ouchy.

La Suisse remains in the shipyard with engine issues.

Simplon remains in the shipyard pending extensive work needed following the damage sustained at Cully in March 2024

Helvetie remains out of commission pending sufficient funds being raised for a rebuild some way down the line.
