The plan of campaign for KC’s major rebuild had been to undertake the work over three winters. However so far this winter and spring things have gone so well that a decision has now been taken to keep her in the shipyard over the summer and autumn and continue working on her making use of the available slot at a time when the slipway is otherwise quiet. By doing it this way there will also be cost savings.

The fund raising cruise on 13th August will still go ahead aboard another vessel from the Dart fleet and we would urge you all to support that. This acceleration of the rebuild timetable also puts pressure upon our fundraising Rebuild Appeal so I would also urge you all to contribute whatever you can to help to ensure that KC is set up through this rebuild for a future extending over the next quarter of a century.

We are sorry that you will not now be able to sail aboard KC in 2022. We hope that you understand. And we look forward to seeing you all aboard KC once again in 2023.
