Ian McCrorie MBE

The PSPS were saddened to learn of the passing of Ian McCrorie MBE.
Great is a much abused word but can be used in Ian’s case with total confidence. Author, historian, lecturer, musician and much more. Perhaps the attachment to Clyde River Steamer Club brings a golden period of Ian to the front line. 1966 to 1976 Ian was cruise convenor; Waverley, Caledonia, King George V, Maid of Argyll, Queen Mary and a host of others and unique places too. Cruise brochures were all part of the outing, oh yes, all wonderful creations by Ian and his wee team.
It’s the end of an era and thought provoking, it’s fair to say a life lived to the full, a fireworks display of humanity. Ian is on his farewell voyage leaving a rich legacy, condolences to Olive and Ian’s family.
Thanks Ian, great to have known you.
