With river water levels rising at Dresden (8am 22nd August 70cm) the paddle steamers are gradually returning to service.

Yesterday (21st August) PS Krippen was scheduled for the double run from Dresden to Schloss Pillnitz, Leipzig for one trip to Pillnitz followed by a “Sightseeing Cruise”, Pillnitz for three “Sightseeing Cruises” and Stadt Wehlen for the down river ” Saxony Wine Route”.

Today (22nd August) Dresden, Krippen, Leipzig, Meissen and Stadt Wehlen are rostered to be out and about although there is still insufficient water to re-start the sailings in Saxon Switzerland between Pirna and Bad Schandau. Fingers crossed there may be sufficient water for this service to re-start on Tuesday 25th: Discover the Elbe Valley from a new perspective. – Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt
