The first meeting of winter 2015-2016 for the Scottish Branch will take place on Friday 16th October at 7:30pm. The speaker, David Howie, will be a familiar face to many of Waverley’s passengers. David has been invited to share with the Branch his personal experiences of working at sea, but will focus on his time spent aboard Waverley mainly in the capacity of Chief Officer.

David first served on Waverley as a Cadet in 2008. He returned in 2009 as 2nd Mate and has served as Chief Officer since 2010. During his time as Chief Officer David has gained significant experience at handling Waverley. His presentation to the Scottish Branch will allow him to explain some of the characteristics of handling and ‘driving’ a paddle steamer.

Members and friends from all Branches are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held at the Renfield, St. Stephen’s Centre, 260 Bath Street Glasgow, G2 4JP.
