On Thursday 22nd May 1975 Waverley sailed from Glasgow to Dunoon with invited guests aboard, many of whom had helped return her to service by offering products and services at little or no cost.
As Waverley prepared to depart Anderston Quay the Pipe Band played and many turned up to witness the start of her new career.

Many thought the venture would be a short lived affair but Waverley continues to churn the waters of the Clyde and around the UK. With continued support her paddles will continue to do so for many years to come.
