Paddle Wheels Ashore

Supporting the preservation and operation of paddle steamers Waverley and Kingswear Castle

Windows and surrounding steel work removed from dining saloon – starboard side.
All that remains of starboard sponson, wheel and paddle shaft removed.
Both wheels ashore and free from paddle shafts for the first time.
Dining saloon completely stripped, timber bulkhead entrance removed for refurbishment.
All that remains of port sponson – wheel, paddle shaft and spring beam removed – crow’s nest (paddle bearing support) still in place.
