Marking Our Diamond Anniversary

It was on 30 October 1959 that the late Professor Alan Robinson called a meeting in Central London that led to the formation of our Society. To commemorate this auspicious occasion, two publications have been crafted to tell our story, one a hardback book and the other a DVD. Contributions from many members have been carefully collated to produce worthy souvenirs of our Diamond Anniversary.

The book, compiled by Richard Clammer, is entitled “Sixty Years of Paddle Steamer Preservation” and costs £25 post free. The DVD is “Britain’s last Paddle Steamers” and was written and produced by documentary film maker David Ellery of Viewpoint Productions and is priced at £14.95 post free. Full descriptions are set out in the Society’s new online shop.

We are pleased to announce that the DVD is now available for immediate delivery and that the book may now be pre-ordered for delivery in early October. All proceeds from sales will be passed to the Waverley Boiler Refit Appeal.

You can order one or both online now at the Society’s new online shop or by using the form to be enclosed with the Autumn issue of Paddle Wheels magazine. Alternatively, you can write, with cheque made payable to PSPS, to PSPS Anniversary Sales, 2, Westbourne Villas, Sedbury Lane, Tutshill, Chepstow, NP16 7DZ
