Paddle Steamer Preservation Society

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Thirty Ninth Annual General Meeting of the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society will be held at The Tall Ship Glenlee, Riverside Museum, 150 Pointhouse Place, Glasgow G3 8RS at 1.30pm on Saturday 24 October 2026 to transact the following business:
- To receive the Reports of the Council of Management and Independent Auditors and the Society’s Financial Statements for the year ended 31 October 2025. This item will include reports on P.S. Kingswear Castle, P.S. Waverley, P.S. Maid of the Loch, other paddlers and the Society’s archive.
- To note that John Allen, Richard Clammer, David Green and Paul Semple have been re-elected unopposed to the Council of Management.
- To appoint Messrs. Henderson & Co. as Auditors of the Company until the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting and to authorise the Council of Management to determine their remuneration.

PROCEDURAL NOTES
- A booklet containing this Notice, the Explanatory Notes and the Annual Report will be available at the meeting. The Annual Report is available here.
- An Open Forum will follow the formal business of the Meeting when members may also raise questions and points for discussion.
- Any member of the Society may appoint a proxy to attend and vote in his or her stead. A proxy need not be a member of the Society. Proxy forms must be lodged with the Secretary 48 hours before the meeting. To avoid the expense of reconvening the meeting if a quorum is not present, please consider appointing the Chairman of the Meeting as your proxy if you are unable to attend. A form may be downloaded here. Under our Articles of Association, the quorum for a General Meeting is 30 members present in person or by proxy.
- Thanks are due to the Riverside Museum and the Glenlee Trust, and the Scottish Branch for making the arrangements for the meeting.
- The Riverside Museum is about a quarter of a mile from Govan Subway station, via the new Govan – Partick bridge over the River Clyde. (Leave the station via the main exit, towards Govan Cross Shopping Centre, and turn right along Water Row.) The nearest ScotRail station is Partick.
- Please note parking at the museum is limited and the car park can be extremely busy at weekends. The museum recommends using public transport if possible. (For those who do prefer to drive, ample alternative parking is available at Shields Road Park and Ride, which is a short hop from Govan on the Subway. The Park and Ride is signposted off the M8.)
- The Riverside Museum is Glasgow’s transport museum and is on the site of A & J Inglis’ shipyard, where Waverley was launched 80 years ago. Admission to the museum is free of charge, but donations are encouraged. There is a charge for Glenlee, but members will be admitted free on production of a PSPS membership card. (Our membership secretary will be present from 12 noon to assist anyone who cannot find their card.)
- Catering facilities are available at the Cafe Terrace on the ground floor of the Riverside Museum, with a coffee shop on the first floor.
- The AGM will be followed with a talk by a Trustee of The Tall Ship Glenlee Trust about the history and preservation of the ship.
- Prior to the start of the meeting the draw of Summer (Scottish Branch) raffle tickets will take place.)
