The PSPS purchased Kingswear Castle in 1967 for the sum of £600 while Waverley was gifted to the Society in 1974 for just £1! Thanks to the support and effort of PSPS members Kingswear Castle has been fully restored to her former glory while Waverley was returned to service in 1975. In 2000/2003 Waverley underwent a £7 million rebuild with PSPS support.

Kingswear Castle is Britain’s only operational coal-fired Paddle Steamer and Waverley is the last sea-going Paddle Steamer in the world! Both ships need our support to help ensure they continue to delight passengers for many years to come.
