Waverley for Tighnabruaich
Waverley is now operating her Clyde summer cruising programme which started in mid June and runs until the end of August. The regular Wednesday sailing route from Largs (or Ayr during August) through the Kyles of Bute to Tarbert and Loch Fyne is one which she has operated each season since 1975. This cruise has always attracted large passenger loadings and with a good weather forecast for Wednesday 12th July 2017 a good number were aboard to enjoy Waverley and the weather.
Unfortunately on this occasion Waverley turned back after Tighnabruaich and never reached Loch Fyne due to a technical issue which was quickly resolved. Passengers then enjoyed some time ashore with Susie’s tearoom being a popular destination in the small village. The following pictures record the perfect sailing conditions.
Waverley will next sail to Tarbert on Wednesday 19th July before undertaking the Scottish Branch’s annual evening charter which will once again take the steamer on an evening cruise round Bute from Largs (7pm) and Keppel (7:20pm). Tickets for this and all Waverley cruises from Waverley Excursions or by calling 0845 130 4647.
