MV Balmoral Returns home to Bristol in Triumph!

“Great News – Sailing & Arrival Times Now Confirmed”

First of all apologies for this very short notice. I had hoped to give slightly longer advance warning of Balmoral leaving Sharpness Dry Dock and Shipyard on her triumphant return home to Bristol.

However with so much work being done, in such a short space of time, it was not certain when it would be fully completed! Now we can confirm our crew and Sharpness Dry Dock staff are working flat out right through to Friday evening.

Balmoral will then be floated this Saturday morning (June 7th) and sail out of Sharpness under command of Captain Roger Francis at approximately 15.00 – To arrive and overnight in Avonmouth around 16.30. Then we go up the River Avon on Sunday around 13.30 Lunch Time, to arrive at Hotwells / Cumberland Basin around 14.45 then through locks into Bristol’s Inner Harbour to tie up at her usual berth outside Mshed approximately 15.15 / 15.30. As you will be aware due to the vagaries of weather, tide and time etc these are our best estimates on all times.

With better weather forecast for Sunday we hope a large number of our supporters and all interested in Balmoral can wave to the ship from the banks of the Avon as we sail past at a good time of day, rather than when she sailed out at 4.30am a few short weeks ago.

We know a warm welcome is assured when she again ties up in her home port. We are very grateful to the City of Bristol and the harbour authorities for their much appreciated support.
